Japan is blessed with some of the world's best skiing, and famed for reliable powder snow. Combine perfect snow, relaxing hot spring onsens, tantalising food washed down with warm sake or a cold Sapporo, with the amazing cultural intrigues of Japan, and it's easy to see why so many travellers return time and again.
Enjoy your holiday at one of Japan's famous, yet affordable, ski resorts, or combine with a personalised trip around Japan to make the most of your trip. Our Asia Travel experts can organise everything from start to end, including flights, or simply your snow resort experience. Hakuba on the island of Honshu stands out as one of Japan’s best ski areas. One of the most popular on snow accommodation areas, Hakuba is easy to access from Tokyo and has 10 separate ski resorts in the valley. Hakuba offers more vertical metres and more variety of ski terrain than anywhere else in Japan. Located just over 200 kilometres from Tokyo in the Nagano prefecture, the mighty Northern Japanese Alps tower over Hakuba town. Hakuba averages well over 10 metres of pristine snow every season and has to be skied to be believed. The investment and infrastructure in the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics left Hakuba with an efficient lift system that makes getting around the mountain quick and easy. Come to Hakuba this season and see what all the fuss is about.
All our Hakuba packages include a day tour to the snow monkeys who spend their winter days soaking in the natural hot springs. The hike to the hot springs is about 30 minutes each way and includes a visit to the historic town of Obuse, home to the famous Japanese artist Hokusai and the museum dedicated to his works. The day trip includes a traditional Japanese lunch at a country restaurant, as well as a visit to the 240 year old Masuichi Sake Brewery including tastings. The trip completes with a visit to Nagano city with the Zenkoji Temple and its quaint lantern lit streets.
The All Mountain Lift Pass includes 9 resorts:

Takayama – loved loved loved the ryokan. Shirakawa-go – we did a half day trip there on a blue sky day and it was stunning.
