Wilpattu National Park’s varying natural habitats; coastal belt, natural lakes (villus), rocky outcrops, scrublands, open grasslands and dense forest provide for numerous species of animals. Among the species are 31 mammals. The biggest draws in Wilpattu are Leopards (Panthera pardus kotiya) and Sloth bears (Melursus ursinus). Apart from those two mammals are Asian Elephants (Elephas maximus), Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, jackals, sambhur, barking deer, mouse deer Wild Pig, Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) and Mugger Crocodiles.

Continue to your hotel.

Day 3: Anuradhapura

Today experience a city tour of Anuradhapura.

Commanding a rich Sri Lankan heritage, Anuradhapura - one of the greatest and oldest civilizations in the world starring 113 kings & spanning over 1300 years in its peak - avows of being the greatest city of ancient Sri Lanka following its reign as the first capital. The sapphire of its crown is certainly the Sri Maha Bodhi - the sacred Bo sapling extracted from the tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment - standing more than 2200 years in its pride. Stroll through the sacred trails of the venerated city to adore the legacy that interweaves Ruwanweliseya - the gigantic dagoba resting alongside the Basawakkulama Tank - shading the Samadhi Buddha Statue & Isurumuniya Rock Temple that empower the culture, heritage and supremacy of arguably the strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history.

Day 4: Trincomalee

In the morning continue onto Trincomalee.

Enjoy the reminder of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Trincomalee

Today you will embark on a city tour of Trincomalee.

Trincomalee, the city which houses one of the best natural deep-water ports in the world, has a legacy that has painted history since royalty throughout colonization, heading towards modern Sri Lanka revamping a fancy development effort. Enter the granite-built Portuguese fort resting in the heart of Trincomalee or head towards the crystal blue sea for an enthralling experience in scuba diving, snorkeling or fishing. If adventure is your pick, then head few more kilometers to be 'whaled' by the giant fins that crash down the blue waves! Meanwhile, head towards the classical-medieval Hindu temple 'Koneswaram' which blazes a subtle sense of Dravidian architecture or take a stroll towards the Bhadrakali Amman Temple dedicated to the goddess Kali.

Day 6: Trincomalee

Enjoy a free day at leisure. Your driver will be available to help you explore the surroundings of Trincomalee.

Day 7: Passikudah

Yala, with its glory spinning around vast grasslands, shrubs, tanks and dunes - rightfully is the heartland of wildlife in Sri Lanka. As your jeep rumble through the giant gates of Yala you are not only stepping into the most visited national park in the country, but also the lands of a civilization which thrived during the reign of Sri Lankan kings. You name it, and Yala has it! Its usual inmates cover herds of elephant, sloth bear, spotted dear, jackal, extensively populated birdlife as well as the highest density of leopards in the world that garnish the park to be one of the finest destinations in the country. Feel the rough track as your jeep thunders over rocks and swish passing narrow bends for an exhilarating experience blended with the cries of wilderness under the tropical sun.

Day 12: Colombo

The walk takes generally 3 - 4 hours and is conducted in the evening-time allowing the body to battle the humidity levels and experience the wind-down time of island culture. And most of all, to give that photographer in your midst the opportunity to create a masterpiece of Colombo City.
